About
Ambient Arts is an ethical business selling music and paintings, which
as the name suggests promote a sense of peace, relaxation and even bliss.
It is a new project aimed at spreading positive and healing energies
through art, music, as well as therapeutic and spiritual recordings.
There is a forum so that people can talk about the products, ask questions
about meditation, and generally talk about growth, healing and self-development.
Nicolas Croll is the founder, composer, and artist behind initial offerings,
and is also a Buddhist and the meditation teacher recorded in the guided
meditation cd’s. He is trained in composition and classical music,
having attended the Guildhall School of Music for ten years, and gone
on to study electronic music, music technology, and the area of sound
healing. This seemed to go hand in hand with Nicolas’ spiritual
life, as he meditates and is studying for ordination into the Western
Buddhist Order. So this business formed, an outlet for music, therapeutic
music and meditations.

Nicolas has suffered from alcoholism and addiction, and in recovery,
returned to music and painting, his two talents. Through this, he started
to become interested in music therapy and the possibilities offered
by this and sound therapy to people in detox and rehabilitation facilities.
The American Indians believe that if you recover from an illness, you
can go on to becomes a healer, and Nicolas has become committed to helping
people with addictions. He was awarded money from Drugscope (a Millennium
Lottery arm) to build a studio and start research, and went on to discover
ways in which the brain’s electromagnetic waves could be manipulated
by sound, and thus induce states of calm and well-being through this
technology. He then added beautiful music and sounds widely considered
relaxing, and came up with the range of products available on this site.
As part of his spiritual growth he is trying to spread the wellness
and spiritual teachings he has received on this hard road to recovery,
and hopes that his work will touch people, and help them to find inner
peace.

This is an inspiring story, from the gutter of despair and suffering
to a meditation teacher and healer! Funds generated by this business
will be invested in further research, and projects taking the therapy
and meditation into places in which they are needed. Nicolas is a strong
idealist, and will also be donating profits to Buddhist and ecological
charities and foundations.
He hopes to represent other musicians, teachers and artists in the near
future, and eventually to fund an outreach charity called 1000 Arms.
This is with the aim of taking healing and spiritual teachings, especially
meditation into areas of the community where it might have a positive
effect (prisons, rehabs, hospitals, hospices, schools, old people’s
homes etc) and reduce suffering in the world even just a little bit!
Nic is 31, lives in Bristol where he practices and teaches
